An intriguing new product from Wacom, ‘Inkling’ captures hand drawn images by recording the movement of the pen. Pretty interesting technology, could be especially useful for animators. Also enables sketches to be converted to vectors, and depending on how well it does that it could be a really great feature. I’ve always found drawing on a tablet felt unnatural, and in many ways counter-intuitive, so the ability to use a real pen (well, half real half magic) on real paper and get a digital image out of it is pretty appealing. I don’t feel the need to rush out and buy one, but I’d definitely like to play around with it for a while.
Former frontman of the recently disbanded The Ghost of a Thousand has created this wonderful 2 colour screen print for the band’s final headline show at London’s Camden Underworld. These were available at the show and I can tell you they look even better in person.
I recently got my hands on some freshly printed merch designs that I did for the awesomely talented &U&I. I believe these were screen printed by Awesome Merchandise, and from the looks of it they did a fantastic job. Though probably no thanks to me, providing them with something that was probably far too detailed to be fully realised as I’d initially intended. I may have to tone down the stippling on future designs. Lesson learned!
