Wacom ‘Inkling’
An intriguing new product from Wacom, ‘Inkling’ captures hand drawn images by recording the movement of the pen. Pretty interesting technology, could be especially useful for animators. Also enables sketches to be converted to vectors, and depending on how well it does that it could be a really great feature. I’ve always found drawing on a tablet felt unnatural, and in many ways counter-intuitive, so the ability to use a real pen (well, half real half magic) on real paper and get a digital image out of it is pretty appealing. I don’t feel the need to rush out and buy one, but I’d definitely like to play around with it for a while.
